The list of nominees is out and once again, I haven’t seen a single film nominated for Best Picture yet. I was planning to see No Country for Old Men at some point, but it didn’t pan out. There Will Be Blood also looked interesting, but I haven’t seen it. There’s just something about seeing these kinds of movies and having to shell out almost $40 for the privilege of sitting in seats that aren’t comfortable, with an audience that won’t shut up. Not to mention that since my hearing isn’t so great anymore, anytime the characters want to murmur or whisper their lines, I can’t understand a damn thing.

I will, however, point out that Ratatouille is nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Screenplay. I doubt it will win the latter, but the nomination is deserved recognition for a damn good story. I’m glad to see Pixar is back to making great movies again and hopefully Cars won’t be repeated anytime soon.
